Department of State - Agency Wide Program Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary The position is located in The Privacy Staff, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Global Information Services, Bureau of Administration (A/GIS/PRV), in the U.S. Department of State. The incumbent provides expert advice and guidance on all aspects of the Department's data breach-related policies, activities, and issues in support of management, staff, and customers. Responsibilities Provides recommendations to improve specific program activities based on departmental priorities. Analyzes and evaluates the full range of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data breach incidents. Collects and develops data/statistics on breaches and prepares reports for management on breach incidents. Participates in the review of policies and procedures related to privacy breaches. Provides expert advice and guidance on all aspects of the Department's data breach -related policies, activities, and issues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education OR if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application. NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F. Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience investigating data breaches of Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Experience providing advice and guidance to senior management concerning privacy data loss/breach policies and procedures. Experience developing and presenting privacy recommendations for new business processes. Experience managing complex projects. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position. Education Education requirements do not apply to this vacancy announcement.
