Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity to join our Professional Internship Program as a Production Agronomy Intern for the summer of 2024.  

The Professional Internship Program is designed to provide college Sophomores and Juniors with the necessary knowledge, experience, and skills to prepare for a potential career within the Corteva Agriscience Seed Business.

The Production Agronomy Intern will support safe, effective, and efficient management of seed production processes. Production Agronomy Interns will assist the Plant Agronomist in the production of seed. They will be responsible for scouting and Integrated Pest Management duties including but not limited to supply research studies, economic injury threshold evaluation, weed and disease identification, and crop progress reporting. The intern will play an important role in raising a quality and high yielding seed crop. The intern will be exposed to several duties performed by a Corteva Agriscience Production Agronomist in the day-to-day activities of seed production. The intern will be assigned a special project by the Agronomist.

Geographic flexibility is preferred. Position start dates will be May 2025. The 2025 position locations will include the following seed production facilities in the Midwest.

  • Toledo, IA

  • Tipton, IN

  • New Madrid, MO

  • Constantine, MI

  • Wahpeton, ND

  • York, NE

  • Plymouth, IN

  • Chatham, Ontario, CA

Qualifications

Qualifications - What You'll Bring:

  • Sophomore or junior year pursuing a 4-year degree in agronomy, agriculture business, agriculture studies, agricultural systems technology, or related field with a broad interest in the agriculture industry.

  • Previous internships in production agriculture or relevant experience preferred.

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), teamwork and leadership skills, strong computer and analytical skills are required.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment; lead and influence teams/projects; and the ability work in and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.

  • Ability to work in crop production fields, have limited exposure to chemicals, dust, noise, temperature variation; moderate lifting 50-100 lbs., ability to work long days during peak seasons.

  • Must also be willing to travel between production locations and company headquarters as needed.

  • Part of the Professional Internship Program is completing an assigned project and presenting the results to a group of business leaders. Professional development opportunities include exposure to other parts of the seed production business.
