SAIC Project Planner in WASHINGTON, District Of Columbia

Description

This is a senior-level position to support multiple project teams in developing, tracking, and managing complex interrelated IT projects. The well qualified candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience in developing and maintaining resource loaded project plans utilizing Jira. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining individual project schedules as well as an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) identifying critical milestones, resources, project interdependencies, and critical paths. The Portfolio Manager will be expected to generate any of the native Jira reports and tailored views to demonstrate project status via schedule and cost performance metrics, variance reports, and estimates at completion. The well qualified candidate will be expected to assist the project teams in standardizing project development processes, reporting artifacts, and naming conventions.

The position will have a hybrid telework arrangement with on-site presence one day a week, at a secure government facility Washington, DC. Onsite work may occasionally be required in Springfield, VA The work schedule will be Monday through Friday during normal business hours. The work location and schedule are subject to change based on government requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with project teams in developing a comprehensive resource loaded project plan and schedule that fulfills the project requirements within the agreed upon timeline, addresses the resource constraints and identifies internal/external critical dependencies.

  • Create and maintain Scrum and Kanban boards to prioritize and track project status, customize workflows, and generate burn down reports.

  • Develop and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule that incorporates all active interrelated projects, identifies their cross-dependencies and milestones.

  • Generate regular performance reports identifying overall status, and time, schedule, and resource variances.

  • Develop standardized performance reports and project artifacts to be used across all projects and the IMS.

  • Apply sound project control processes to identify performance challenges and identify and address variances.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree and 14 years or more of related experience.

  • Expert level hands-on experience with in developing, tailoring, and maintaining multiple complex Jira schedules and reports.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Capable of working well within a collaborative environment as an integral member of a project team.

Required Clearance:

  • US Citizenship.

  • Active Secret security clearance with Top Secret Eligibility.

Desired Education/Skills:

  • Prior work experience supporting U.S. government agencies.

  • PMP or ITIL 4 certified.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
