Requirements
The O’Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center i (http://nursing.georgetown.edu/experiential-learning/clinical-simulation-center/) s an advanced learning and research facility within the School of Nursing. The Center is a dynamic learning environment created through the generosity of Georgetown alumni Timothy O’Neill (L’77) and Linda O’Neill (NHS’77). Georgetown University School of Nursing is a values-based organization that educates the health workforce and advances practice, research, and scholarship, with a strong focus on reducing health disparities and promoting health equity. The school houses academic degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels.
The Manager of the O’Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center is an essential role in implementing the general mission, vision and strategic goals of the Georgetown University School of Nursing. An individual in this role will demonstrate leadership while providing clinical, educational, and technical expertise in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the simulation learning experience. Utilizing standards of best practice and as an expert in simulation pedagogy, they collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure the highest quality simulation learning activities are integrated and implemented across the undergraduate and graduate programs. A masters prepared nurse with current clinical expertise is strongly preferred as they can lend those skills to the overall student experience. The manager will actively engage with undergraduate and graduate students in the learning process by teaching and assessing student skills while in the simulation center. In addition, the manager is responsible for the oversight of operations within the O’Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center. The individual in this position would work in collaboration with the Director of Simulation to secure Georgetown University as leader in healthcare simulation education. Duties include but are not limited to:
Oversee the day to day operations within the O’Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center.
Collaborate with the Director and Simulation technicians to assure the center is operating at the highest standards.
Manage a supply budget to assure students have adequate opportunities to practice skills.
Schedule lab time as well as assign ideal space for proposed time.
Collaborate with the Director of Simulation in the purchase of equipment that will improve experiences.
Facilitate student experiences by utilizing expertise in practice and simulation pedagogy.
Evaluate experiences and collaborate on improvements.
Work on weekends as needed.
Work Interactions
This position reports to the Director of Simulation. They directly support the mission and vision of the GUSON commitment to the formation of ethical, empathetic, and transformational nursing leaders through the intentional development, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality formative and summative simulation learning experiences for GUSON nursing programs. The Manager of the Simulation Center directly supervises the Senior Simulation Technician, Simulation Technician, and FWS students.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s degree in nursing preferred
Recent nursing practice with 3-5 years of relevant experience
Simulation education experience (e.g., clinical education, skills labs)
Simulation Certification (CHSE) preferred

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$54,616.00 - $100,493.33
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
