We are looking for a self-starter with the desire to be a critical member of our growing team in an Agile Scrum environment. As a DevOps Engineer you will help introduce processes, tools, and methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development lifecycle, from coding and deployment to maintenance and support. This role requires you to be able to work independently and help drive work forward all while managing your own priorities and taking on additional work/responsibilities should you be required.

You must possess strong communication and organization skills. The team works in a remote setting that will require you to communicate effectively, focus and self-motivate. You must also be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently under guided tasking. At various times you will be required to be on-site to support our customers in DevOps related efforts (meetings, deployments, etc.). This will allow you to work more closely with our customers and build strong relationships. You must be able to work collaboratively with our team and remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

More About the Role:

  • Work independently, prioritizing your work effectively.

  • Help develop automated CI/CD build/deployment pipelines using AzureDevOps (TFS), Dacpac, Msdeploy.

  • Help with software configuration management (SCM) release planning and version control, providing SCM support throughout a software product's life cycle (initial software development through promotion to Test, QA, and Production Environments).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation, infrastructure, and system issues.

  • Proactively and independently help identify, report, monitor, and mitigate technical risks.

  • Work closely with cyber team members on security related efforts.

  • This position is Remote with meetings at the Pentagon as needed so you must be local to the DMV.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (in Information Technology and Computer Science or similar field a plus) or prior relevant work experience

  • Strong communication skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status

  • Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification within 60 days of start date

  • Strong collaboration skills and desire to work within a team

  • Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong work ethic; self-starter

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment

  • Solution-based thinker; capable of resolving complex technical challenges

  • Ability to be at the Pentagon from time to time to support various DevOps efforts

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Some experience designing and building automated software testing pipelines using Selenium, JMeter, Junit and/or other applicable tools.

  • Some experience designing, developing and deploying software in a cloud environment (AWS is a plus).

  • Some experience developing and deploying software in a DoD environment

  • Experience working as part of an Agile software development team.

  • Experience working with Docker

  • Some knowledge of Git and experience with development workflows.

  • Some experience designing, building, and deploying DevOps pipelines

  • Experience designing and implementing application deployment pipelines

  • Ability to design and document technical solutions related to CI/CD

  • Interest in and/or comfort with presenting to an audience a plus.

  • Interest in influencing others regarding processes and solutions.

  • Some experience working in an Agile environment.

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$62,800-$128,600
