For more information visit: Office of the Executive Director (OED) | Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (ferc.gov) Responsibilities As an IT Project Manager, some of your typical work assignments may include: Serving as Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for the Chief Information Officer's (CIO’s) multi-year/multi-million-dollar contract. Coordinating with project managers, technical monitors and oversight managers during contract administration, ensuring the completion of internal procedures and documentation as well as adherence to FERC's contracting policies. Planning and directing agency-wide IT projects involving innovative concepts or approaches where precedents do not exist, and large numbers of people or multiple Offices are affected. Leading activities for implementing agile methodologies, including process improvements and long-range agile planning for the Chief Information Officer's Office (CIOO). Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or National. A one-year probationary period may be required. A background investigation is required. You must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience managing agile projects, leading agile teams, and providing oversight of information technology contracts. Experience with Contracting Officer Representative (COR) duties, Agile methodologies, and process improvement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
