Summary This position is located in the eDiscovery Group and is responsible for executing eDiscovery searches, reviews, and analysis for Attorneys in the Legal Division. Responsibilities Serves as a technical eDiscovery specialist with responsibility for locating, organizing and producing electronically stored information (ESI) in response to investigations, litigation-related discovery requests, subpoenas, inter-agency document requests, congressional inquiries and Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) requests. Provides agency attorneys and paralegals with training and other technical assistance specifically dedicated to researching, reviewing, and retrieving ESI, including the operation of eDiscovery Tools. Partners with agency attorneys to identify and develop specifications for upgrading eDiscovery software applications and databases, budget for future eDiscovery operations, and supervise the activities of private contractors hired to assist in completing high volume eDiscovery projects. Designs and executes search, review, and analysis strategies for employing sophisticated eDiscovery software applications such as Veritas eDiscovery Platform (Clearwell), Relativity (including Case Dynamics), Encase, Nuix, , Microsoft 365 Advanced eDiscovery, and Microsoft 365 Core eDiscovery (collectively, “eDiscovery Tools”), to locate, recover, organize and produce potentially responsive ESI. Facilitates the analysis and disclosure of ESI collected for eDiscovery purposes; monitors data collection efforts, creates appropriate file structures, converts document images, and creates and edits load files. Handles the hosting and indexing of ESI for later recovery. Requirements Conditions of Employment Registration with the Selective Service. U.S. Citizenship is required. Employment Conditions. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify for the CG-12:Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG-11 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as providing eDiscovery support in investigations or litigation across various phases of the eDiscovery process, including the organization, search, maintenance, and production of electronically stored information (ESI) through the use of litigation support technology, such as Clearwell, Relativity, or other eDiscovery software applications.
