Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Driver Courier to support Kadiak and our government customer in the Metro DC area. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

Kadiak LLC, a subsidiary of Koniag Government Services, is seeking a reliable and efficient Driver Courier to join our team. This role is responsible for the timely and secure delivery of documents, packages, mail, and other materials within and between our facilities, as well as to external locations such as business partners and government agencies. The ideal candidate should possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to operate a vehicle safely while adhering to strict delivery protocols and schedules.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Driver Courier will be responsible for:
Operate an automobile or light truck to deliver messages, documents, packages, and mail to various business concerns, governmental agencies, and other designated locations.
Transport office personnel and visitors as needed, ensuring a safe and comfortable ride.
Perform miscellaneous errands, such as carrying mail to and from the post office and sorting or opening incoming and outgoing mail.
Obtain receipts and maintain accurate logs of items received and delivered, ensuring proper tracking and documentation.
Deliver items to offices and departments within the company's facilities, adhering to established protocols and schedules.
Maintain the cleanliness and proper operation of the assigned vehicle, ensuring regular maintenance and reporting any issues or concerns.
Adhere to all applicable traffic laws and safe driving practices, prioritizing the safety of pedestrians, other drivers, and the cargo being transported.
Assist with loading and unloading packages and materials, ensuring proper handling and storage procedures are followed.
Maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Valid driver's license from the state of legal residence with at least 2 years of good driving record.
Ability to lift and carry packages and materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
Excellent driving skills and knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic patterns.
Ability to follow strict delivery schedules and protocols, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of items.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling and documenting received and delivered items.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of sensitive materials being transported.
Ability to navigate and read maps or GPS systems for efficient routing.
Adherence to all applicable traffic laws and safe driving practices.
Basic organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deliveries.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Experience in a courier, delivery, or transportation-related role in a professional or government environment.
Familiarity with logistical operations and delivery management procedures.
Knowledge of safety protocols for handling and transporting sensitive or hazardous materials.
Proficiency in using route optimization software or GPS navigation systems.
Basic computer skills for maintaining delivery records and documentation.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances or unexpected situations.

Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
