Description
We are actively searching for an experienced Controller to be based in Montgomery County, MD. As a Controller, you will be engaged in a variety of tasks including managing the monthly accounting functions, overseeing the close process, financial statement preparation and internal financial reporting, managing payable processes, coordinating with the annual audit process, and ensuring compliance with financial and accounting regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the monthly accounting closes, ensuring the creation of timely and accurate financial statements in line with GAAP.
• Lead the reporting function which includes creating monthly financial packages, coordinating subtenant billing, and carrying out quarterly endowment reconciliations.
• Manage staff coordination with AR Manager & Payroll/Benefits Administrator.
• Handle the accounts payable process and ensure smooth running of the entire operation.
• Direct the annual audit process, liaising with internal staff to complete all PBC items and follow up with external auditors.
• Guarantee compliance with financial and accounting regulations; ensuring tax filing compliance.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations including banking relationships and credit card reconciliations.
• Oversee cash flow management including maintaining cash flow forecasts and coordinating LOC and endowment draws and repayment with CFO.
• Maintain the Sage Intacct Accounting System, serving as one of the key administrators.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Expertise in Accounting Functions
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience in Auditing processes
• Familiarity with Budget Processes
• Proficient in using Sage Intacct software preferred
• Experience in Monthly Account Reconciliation
• Skilled in performing Month End Close procedures
• Ability to Analyze Financial Statements
• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation
• Capability to perform Cash Flow Forecasts
• Experience in managing Annual External Audit
• Strong skills in maintaining Bank Relations
• Expertise in Financial Reporting
