Requirements

The Clinical Research Coordinator works for the Clinical Research Unit (CRU) at Georgetown University supporting clinical research nurses in the care of research and standard of care patients. The incumbent will engage in coordination of quality improvement measures as needed and will provide clinical and laboratory support for off-site visits. This role is integral to the team effort that provides comprehensive care for clinical trials supported by the CRU. Working under the direct supervision of a nurse who will delegate appropriate tasks and reporting directly to CRU Nurse Manager, additional duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist nurses with clinical research and standard of care tasks, taking vital signs, performing ECGs, and phlebotomy needs.

  • Pick up and deliver drugs from Research and Main Pharmacy, transporting subjects when needed.

  • Coordinate DXA patient care, performing, analyzing, and reporting results for research of care scans.

  • Conduct an independent review of medical record for health and bone history, tracking scans and providing census data for billing.

  • Maintain SOPs, quality control of DXA unit, IATA Certification, and inventory, ordering supplies when necessary.

  • Provide clinical and laboratory support, including off-site visits, chart set-up and copying documents.

  • Function autonomously and be the CRU expert in matters of DXA operation and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Science or equivalent

  • Prior experience performing clinical assistant, phlebotomy, and clinical research assistant functions

  • BLS certification require with IV insertion skills

  • International Society for Clinical Densitometry certification expected to be obtained within the first year of employment if does not have at date of hire

  • DXA and Bilingual experience a plus

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$20.16 - $31.30

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
