Our work depends on a Systems Engineer joining our team to support the Department of State contract as a member of our Citrix operations team.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Systems Engineer supporting the Department of State IRM program, you will be trusted to lead a high visibility team that delivers an essential service to our client. In this role, a typical day will include:

Work as Citrix team member in deployment, configuration and maintenance of Citrix systems and infrastructure. Develops technical solutions for the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures. As a team member, you will need experience and knowledge in the following:

  • Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later, Citrix Provisioning Services, Citrix NetScaler/ADC.

  • Experience in Azure cloud technologies and services

  • Design, test, and deploy systems in Citrix Virtual Application and Desktops environment in the traditional and cloud environments.

  • Independently provides technical interpretation and solutions in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.

  • Troubleshoots system hardware and software specific issues.

  • Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.

  • Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.

  • Ensures server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.

  • Independently ensures data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.

  • Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

  • Ensures that performance and security of servers meet the needs of network users.

  • Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.

  • May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies.

  • Provides troubleshooting support for system hardware and software issues that are highly complex in scope.

  • Applies advanced knowledge in monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance levels.

  • Provides guidance to less experienced personnel on workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.

  • Conducts advanced to complex hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

  • Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users. Uses extensive independent judgement and is unsupervised.

  • Recognized subject matter expert in job area typically through advanced education and work experience. Manages large projects with limited oversight from manager.

  • Evaluates and assesses existing systems and plans long-term strategies.

  • May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An IT (or similar) based bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 8+ years of experience in IT Support Operations

  • 4 years if Citrix administration experience

  • Citrix Certified Professional Virtualization (CCP-V) preferred

  • Azure Cloud Administrator certification desired

  • Active Top-Secret clearance

The likely salary range for this position is $125,800 - $170,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
