HarmonyTech Business Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

HarmonyTech Inc. is seeking a talented and experienced Business Analyst to become an integral part of our team.  This person will be assisting with requirements gathering, facilitating conversations between Engineers and IT leaders, scheduling meetings and follow-ups, doing analysis on current and future state for upgrade/migration projects, as well as roadmapping and managing the group's backlog. They should have experience in a similar industry and a highly matrixed enterprise organization, as well as be someone who's technical, resourceful, adaptable, naturally curious and has an analytical mind.

Location:

The work shall be performed National Capital Region - Hybrid (e.g. will be in government office at least once a week).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document System Requirements Documentation (SRD) to capture change requests/system changes. 

  • Maintain and periodically update project documentation, including subtasks, schedule, resources, risks, issues, and status, and communicate all changes to stakeholders. 

  • Participate in business requirement sessions and document requirements. 

  • Meet with the customer to understand business requirements and drive discussions on business needs and questions to be answered by planned reports or dashboards. 

  • Document reporting and dashboard requirements, including mock-ups of requested dashboards/reports. 

  • Work with PM to plan each Sprint cycle and identify acceptance criteria.  

  • Support the team in performing data profiling and analysis of source system data to identify issues. 

  • Support data analysis of client data.

  • Support Unit and User Acceptance testing as required. 

  • Work with team members to develop prototypes (UI/UX Mockup screens) for major customer interface changes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant business analyst experience

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and software development lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with business analysis software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is a plus

  • Proven experience in business process modeling, requirements gathering, and documentation

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels

  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, such as SWOT analysis, gap analysis, and use case modeling 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Understanding of Federal Civilian Agency Policies and Procedures  

  • Familiarity with Export/Import Bank Business Processes 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience.
