Requirements
The Bus Driver II serves primarily as a driver with multifaceted tasks as staffing shortages are identified on each shift. The incumbent will operate all sizes of University transit vehicles along published routes on campus and scheduled charters in compliance with local, federal, and University regulations governing transit vehicle operations to provide safe and efficient mass transit operations for the Georgetown University community. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
Conduct pre-trip inspections and perform routine maintenance to ensure the vehicle is clean and safe to operate.
Serve as an emergency position that requires the incumbent report to work during inclement weather at regularly scheduled time regardless of whether university is closed, opening late or closing early.
Communicate with the supervisor or other authorized department personnel in accordance with department guidelines to ensure effective communication.
Notify the supervisor immediately of problems relating to bus operation, customer complaints and related matters, completing and submitting vehicle inspection, accident, and similar reports to enable department to maintain a written record or regular maintenance and problems.
E nforce University parking and traffic regulations to provide public safety, ensuring availability of parking spaces for registered parkers, authorized visitors, and University vehicles.
Patrol University roadways, parking garages, and surface lots, issuing citations to vehicles parked in fire lanes or other improperly parked vehicles on University grounds.
Control access to assigned parking lot area, stops and check all vehicles entering in their lane for decals or passes, issuing free passes to authorized visitors whose names are on the visitor list.
Issue passes and collect fees from visitors if spaces are available, explaining garage policies such as no blocking roadways and fire lanes and reporting problems to supervisor.
Perform o ther duties as assigned, assisting with the collection of debris and emptying trash cans in the garage as needed.

The Bus Driver II reports to the Director of Transportation Management, along with Senior Operations Manager, 3 Traffic Controllers, 8 Parking Attendants, 30 Bus Driver II's, 2 Bus Driver III's, 2 Grounds Keepers, 1 Parking Coordinator,1 Account Analyst I, and 1 Operations Manager.
Requirements and Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
A minimum of six months experience operating passenger buses and vans or similar public service or equivalent combination of training and experience acceptable
Must have Commercial Driver’s License – Class B with air brake qualifications and passenger endorsement from DC, MD or VA; If outside metropolitan area must be willing to transfer license
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests as well as background check

Full-time: 40 hours
Pay: $22.08 per hour plus an additional $1.00 per hour as a night shift differential hour
Location: Main Campus, 3700 “O” Street, Washington, DC
