Primary Function

Provides technical expertise in the fields of multimedia and A/V systems encompassing all related systems including operational system support, high-level troubleshooting and performance monitoring, capacity planning support and documentation. Specific areas of expertise include broadcast production, virtual/hybrid production, digital signage, webcasting, encoding, archiving, video and audio connectivity, and IPTV. This includes the use of advanced test equipment, and performing signal analysis and equipment adjustments.

Rate: $85,000 - $95,000 annually

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver broadcast-quality programming and technically flawless live events.

  • Responsible for maintenance, repair and storage of all studio, broadcast and AV equipment including, but not limited to, multi-camera television studio, broadcast systems for live events; simultaneous interpretation systems; portable systems for live in-house events; audio and video recording/playback; video teleconferencing systems; AV routing/switching; digital signage.

  • When assigned to work in the Central Operations Area, ability to operate distribution systems including centralized VTC, simultaneous interpretation system, video wall content engine, digital signage control systems, AVOC signal distribution, Ross Xpression HD Graphics engine, IPTV content distribution, CATV distribution, fiber transmit systems and multi-channel audio distribution.

  • Act as the client main point-of-contact for all webcast and video production activities.

  • Coordinate the overall webcast and video production operational activities including: event scheduling, database entry, creative and production consulting, audio and video quality control, metadata accuracy, presentation quality, on-demand library management and mitigating equipment related issues.

  • Act as lead broadcast director during large, multi-webcast scenarios where the coordination of scheduling, communication and multi-language streaming are present.

  • Manage concurrent webcasts.

  • Lead operator and administrator of the centralized digital workflow systems including; centralized ingest servers, shared editing systems, centralized storage arrays, LTO archive system, centralized transcode system, centralized graphics creation and MAM.

  • Creates, prepares and inserts bugs, lower thirds, titles and credits.

  • Develops and implements SOPs.

  • Engage and correspond directly with clients to define their overall specific and video production requirements.

  • Operator for central operations and distribution systems, including simultaneous interpretation system, enterprise-wide video ingestion, video wall content engine, digital signage control systems, AVOC signal distribution.

  • Coordinate and manage the repair of equipment with outside service personnel and authorized manufacturer service centers.

  • Support AV/IT as required.

  • Required to perform duties where necessary during extended hours, and occasionally for special events during evenings and weekends.

  • Provide excellent customer service.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Command of modern video and webcast production, equipment and signal processes. Cross-trained in multiple positions with a proactive attitude to jump in where help is needed.

  • Strong technology familiarity with video camera, lighting edit and design platforms, digital storage platforms, file formats and webcast technology.

  • High degree of familiarity and proficiency with Ross, Crestron, Fusion, Polycom systems as well understanding of Sony and Panasonic camera systems.

  • Familiarity with Adobe CC is desirable.

Education & Experience

  • At least 4 years experience as a Broadcast or AV Engineer.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, trade certification and/or progressive experience in communications, video/film production, digital/IT or related field is required.
