Washington Nationals Assistant Manager, Events Operations in WASHINGTON, District Of Columbia

Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Events, the Assistant Manager, Events, will assist the Ballpark Operations events department with the execution of internal, external and game-day events. The Assistant Manager will work as the lead operator on events within the Park and will assist the Director of Events in the execution of full-park events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Event Execution
Serve as the operational contact for a variety of events, managing all operational and logistical needs for the client from start to finish.
Create all event production documents including event space diagrams, event staff notes, and utilizing Momentous Software to input necessary event related information.
Coordinate with all internal departments to ensure open lines of communications involving all event details including staff scheduling and coordination.
Schedule and attend client site visits to ascertain event set-up and then create the documents that will communicate those details to the rest of the organization.
Communicate with Levy Restaurants to ensure food order has been received, understood, and can be executed in the space that has been booked.
Work within contract stipulations and with vendors to ensure seamless event load-in and load-out.
Manage execution of events to ensure efficient and high-quality event production leading to customer satisfaction.
Assist the Director of Events in the execution of larger anchor events in the venue.
Execute game day special events including significant theme night activations.
Work autonomously to manage and execute events both internally, externally, and on game-days
Other
Oversee special event storage location management and maintain inventory of event related items.
Manage part-time Batting Practice Pitcher program which supports non-game day special event activations such as batting practice, speed pitch, etc.
Assist in the scheduling of suite and space bookings into the game day facility report
Assist in yearly budgeting and planning of event furniture and items.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Communications, or other related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in event production and operational management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
Must be highly organized and detailed oriented.
Demonstrated ability to assist in the coordination of a wide variety of public and private events.
Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and dependable.
Must be familiar with floor plan layouts and event management terminology.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal team, cross-functional team, and external parties.
Knowledge and proficiency in Internet communications technologies, (e-mail, Web, etc.) and MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of Momentous Systems and Social Tables preferred but not required.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work will require weekend and/or evening work.
Game-Day and Event: Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
Compensation:
The projected annual salary range for this position is $40,950.00 - $58,300.00 per year. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
