Requirements
The Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) (http://sfs.georgetown.edu/mission/) , founded in 1919, is a premier school of international affairs. SFS provides a rigorous education grounded in both theory and practice while instilling the Jesuit value of service. Father Edmund A. Walsh, S.J.’s vision was a school that would prepare students for all major forms of foreign representation — official and unofficial, governmental and private sector, whether commercial, financial, consular or diplomatic.
The Assistant Director of Studies will manage and implement the student and participant services and operations of the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy’s executive education programs, including the Georgetown Leadership Seminar(GLS), the Executive Master’s in Diplomacy in International Affairs-Qatar (EMDIA-Q), the DC-based portion of the Executive Master’s in Diplomacy and International Affairs-Asia Pacific (EMDIA-AP), and the Young Asian Diplomats Program, all of which are premier executive education programs at the Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) (as well as additional Executive Education programs as they are developed). Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the daily management and representation of the executive education programs, including direct student and participant services, program and budget administration, and event management.
Manage the promotion of the programs with a consistent and effective message to the Georgetown University campus, the Washington DC community, and beyond, domestically and internationally.
Engage regularly with both internal and external constituents to support critical work in all programs.
Assist the Director of Studies with all aspects of these programs, including speaker/faculty recruitment and engagement.
Work Interactions
The Assistant Director reports to the ISD Director of Studies and works closely with the ISD leadership and staff, executive education faculty and participants, and SFS and GU administrators and external partners in Washington, DC, Indonesia, and Qatar.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of 3 years of closely related experience in program administration and student services
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and the capacity to interact effectively with a diverse domestic and international program community, including students, faculty, staff, university administrators, academic counterparts, donors, and members of the media
Strong orientation to detail, deadlines, professionalism, and client service
Proficiency in technologies related to the functions of the position

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$44,022.00 - $73,406.80
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
