The Administrator for Student Affairs provides direct administrative support to the Senior Associate Dean for Student Affairs (Dean of Students), in addition to general administrative support to eh Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and the Office of Student Learning & Academic Advising (OSLAA) in an effort to ensure timely, quality, & longitudinal support and advising to over 800 students in the Georgetown University School of Medicine M.D. Program. The Administrator will be required to learn, understand, and interpret School of Medicine and University policies for faculty, staff, and students within the scope of the position. The Administrator must become familiar with and well-versed in the Senior Associate Dean for Student Affairs activities, commitments, policies, projects, and priorities - as well as that of the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of Student Learning & Academic Advising, more generally. Additionally, the Administrator will assist with Office of Student Affairs event planning, including and attending Orientations, Match Day, Commencement, and other School of Medicine events throughout the year. Duties include but are not limited to:
Provide direct administrative support to the Senior Associate Dean for Student Affairs.
Serves as a key administrative support and coordination liaison between medical students and varying School of Medicine administrative offices.
Assists with updates to various handbooks, SOM website, and other resources related to OSA functions.
Supports administrative aspects of planning and execution of advising programs.
Work Interactions
Under the leadership of the Senior Associate Dean of Students, the incumbent will provide administrative support to the Dean of Students and the OSA team. The Administrator for Student Affairs, alongside the broader OSA team, often collaborates and works closely with all SOM offices, the GUMC/MedStar community, and GU student services offices.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to empathetically and diplomatically navigate sensitive student issues
Ability to manage long-term planning processes and multiple shifting priorities under varying time constraints
Strong administrative judgment and problem-solving skills
Experience and strong knowledge in online calendaring, spreadsheets, and database and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite)

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$21.16 - $35.29
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
