Our Cloud Investment Strategy team is seeking a Senior Finance Manager responsible for driving the financial evaluation of mission-related opportunities in support of Microsoft’s work with the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, Federal government, and their mission partners.
The team’s charter is to deliver mission solutions in partnership with the Strategic Missions and Technology team while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring mission solutions & cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of the team you’ll also support long term bets to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition, all while enhancing transparency into Microsoft investments and safeguarding shareholder interests.
This role will lead P&L management, controllership, and compliance for the government clouds. Core responsibilities will include business partnering with the US field teams, mission engineering partners, cloud engineering partners, the national security team, and corporate finance teams to deliver end-to-end financial assessments and communicate the investments, risks, and economics of potential opportunities.

Responsibilities
This role is a great opportunity to:
Partner across diverse business planning and engineering teams to drive Microsoft’s strategy & execution
Develop robust financial models to evaluate investments and to inform customer-specific opportunities
Enhance transparency into end-to-end processes and partnerships to identify and drive accountability
Be a trusted business partner to commerce and central finance teams to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance
Analyze ROI and provide decision support to business teams
Develop and implement processes and frameworks to accelerate, simplify, and scale Microsoft Cloud’s investment process
Engage in continuous learning of Microsoft Cloud services, infrastructure, operations, go-to-market, and long-term cloud economics
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
Clearance Verification:
This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
Cloud Screening:
Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Citizenship & Citizenship Verification : This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep modeling capabilities and ability to work with financial and business systems.
Experience and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
Ability to think end to end from strategic planning through multi-year execution; and to model the financial investments and impact accordingly.
Proven leadership skills, with demonstrated results in proactively driving and delivering high value/high-impact project results through both individual and v-team efforts.
Partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority.
Executive level oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex analysis in a clear, simple way through PowerPoint.
Ability to deal with ambiguity across a continuously evolving, fast-paced business.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and to work under tight deadlines.
High level of self-motivation and autonomy; ability to quickly identify what needs to be accomplished and resourcefulness to get things done.
Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
