Job Description:

At Regions, the Public Policy Manager advanced the interests of the bank by developing and maintaining key relationships with congressional offices and select policy making areas of federal regulatory and executive branch agencies. This position tracks and influences developing legislation and policy and communicates relevant information and policy guidance to internal stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops relationships with key members and staff as well as selects policymakers at federal agencies and leverages those relationships to advance the interests of the bank

  • Works with peer institutions, trade associations, and other bank partners to develop coordinated strategies to influence federal policy

  • Identifies and tracks rulemaking efforts that may have a material impact on the bank

  • Works with internal constituents to develop plans to match business objectives

  • Represents Regions before members of Congress, Federal agencies, trade associations, and at public events

  • Advises Regions executives and subject matter experts on the political landscape

  • Ensures a positive perception of the bank with stakeholders, including the Federal government, the media, and non-governmental agencies

  • Gives presentations to internal and external audiences on political and policy matters

  • Monitors the effect of public policy changes on the organization and advises senior management

  • Manages the development of policy positions and comment letters

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

This is a single incumbent position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Ten (10) years of experience in regulatory or legislative policy related to financial services

Preferences

  • Juris Doctor

At Regions, the Public Policy Manager works to advance the interests of the bank by developing and maintaining relationships with members of Congress with a focus on the House of Representatives. The role requires a public policy professional with the ability to identify key issues, develop advocacy priorities, and articulate the company’s position to identified audiences. The Public Policy Manager also must have strong communication and presentation skills in order to effectively communicate relevant information and policy guidance to internal stakeholders. The person in this role will representing Regions before members of Congress, Federal agencies, trade associations, and at public events.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$189,920.02 USD

Median:

$271,908.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance.Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
