Calvert Research and Management has approximately $38.7 billion of mutual fund and separate account assets under management as of March 31, 2024. Basic Purpose:

The Calvert COO Team is looking to fill a position for an Investment Team Governance role. This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing Calvert’s Research, Engagement, and Index committee obligations as well as ensuring Calvert policies and procedures are performed, documented, and maintained according to Calvert policies and Regulatory requirements. The position is located in Washington, DC, with an in-office requirement of at least 3 days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Content development and execution of Calvert committee agendas, meeting materials, and minutes.
    • Prepare regular communications to Calvert committee members.
    • Manage tracker reporting for each Calvert committee to ensure final materials are complete.
    • Function as the primary internal contact on all issues related to document organization and retention compliance for Calvert committees and maintain all records in accordance with firm polices and regulatory requirements.
    • Managing Calvert committee reporting; update and maintain all risk limits within internal risk systems (FRMS, Aladdin, etc.) used by investment teams and Calvert.
    • Perform periodic documentation and procedure audits for all Calvert committees, to ensure business complies with all pertinent regulations and internal policies and identify potential areas of business vulnerability and risk.
    • Support all Calvert departments in ensuring all policies and procedures are met.
    • Provide periodic committee training to Calvert staff as needed.
    • Substantial other duties as necessary to support Calvert COO Team

    • Five plus years brokerage and/or paralegal experience at a law firm or financial institution; bachelor’s degree required.

    • Excellent writing ability.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and use good judgment within areas of responsibility.
    • Well organized with strong attention to detail, a high level of independent initiative, and a keen desire to take final ownership of content in deliverables to senior management.
    • Strong verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Advanced knowledge of Excel including the use of macros is a plus.
Skills Desired:

  • Depth of knowledge of regulatory requirements as applied to compliance in the investment management industry a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with managing governance frameworks
  • Familiarity with legal document preparation and/or drafting transactional documentation.
  • Proficiency with Excel including ability to use pivot tables and basic functions.
  • Prior experience auditing.
