Microsoft Corporation Cloud Solution Architect Manager in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia

Microsoft Cloud Solution Architects (CSA's) enable our customers to realize their full potential through accelerated adoption and productive use of Microsoft technologies. To that end, we are dedicated to improving the overall customer experience, serving as the customer advocates within Microsoft and driving customer-centric product improvement. The Northeast Customer Success team is committed to this excellence with Microsoft customers that focuses on achieving a Modern Work with such products and online services such as Copilot, Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams and others.

The Cloud Solution Architect Manager is a pivotal role in this endeavor, managing the best and brightest capabilities within a team of Customer Engineers (CE’s). The CSA Manger typically manages a combined team of 10-12 billable Customer Engineers that are focused on driving customer satisfaction, cloud consumption aligned to the client’s overall corporate priorities, and customer IT health. Leadership, business acumen, people development and operational excellence in execution are keys to the success of the CSA Manager role.

The CSA Manager accomplishes the above-mentioned objectives by providing their teams with direction and guidance. Successful CSA Managers possess passion, vision and experience in the Technology Industry, and are able lead a team of professionals to build, educate, and grow their technical, industry and support expertise. CSA Manager must have technology and industry knowledge, help us analyze gaps in our current team composition and skills, and build a roadmap to fill the gaps.

The CSA Manager is key to guiding team members in career development, improving our support technology skills, and coaching individual team members to help them meet their business commitments and professional objectives. In addition, the CSA Manager works with their peer managers and team members to improve the overall workgroup health, fostering an inclusive culture of openness and honesty, aligned to Microsoft values.

Responsibilities

  • Drive customer satisfaction and services revenue through delivery resource development, direction and mentorship.

  • Drive the staffing process, teaming with the Delivery Resource Manager(s), to ensure proper placement of highly qualified individuals from their team on qualified engagements/contracts.

  • Drive and is responsible forutilization goals.

  • Hires appropriate technical individuals to meet the demands of our customers.

  • Participates in Area/Sub resource planning processes, use insights to re-skill or adjust resource levels.

  • Works effectively across multiple roles to successfully achieve business goals.

  • Conducts overall performance management, including mentoring, assessing resource impact, rewards, etc.

  • Drive technical and professional role readiness across their team.

  • Recognizes and develops team members’ strengths, aligned to capability needs, resulting in expected or exceeded delivery results.

  • Consistently achieves and frequently exceeds personal and team goals from quarter to quarter.

  • Maintains employee/team readiness by finishing the required training and/or certifications.

  • Consistently handles areas of fiscal responsibility, staying within budget.

  • Generates an inclusive workgroup environment, which encourages cross-group collaboration.

  • Communicates vision, business direction, & workgroup core priorities.

  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and business impact in driving a myriad of key business initiatives.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 12+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external).

  • 6+ years experience leading technical projects, teams, or functions.

  • Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications).

  • 5+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers.

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated abilities/competencies in:effective OrganizationalLeadership, Operational Control (operating and budgeted expense), and Resource Allocation (headcount and staffing plans). Examples of having motivated others, evaluating talent, havinga high level of selling and customer/partner service skills and possessing the ability to think strategically.

Cloud Solution Architecture M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
