What you will do

In this role we are looking for individuals with quantitative science background (statistics, data science, computer science, mathematics or similar) and passion in drug development to join an R analytic group within global statistical science at Amgen. This role will have opportunity to work across Amgen’s pipeline (early and late) to oversee the development of data review visualization tool, statistical/machine learning algorithms, and analytic pipeline/package/application in R. It provides opportunity to develop leadership skills in clinical development strategy and address scientific questions through practical quantitative thinking. In this role you will

  • Interact with clinical scientists, data management, statistical programming, data standard team to streamline data quality review process for real-time data quality monitoring

  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues (e.g., clinical scientist, study statistician, programmer) to develop data visualization application, statistical modeling and algorithm in R to address issues in clinical data quality

  • Overseeing design and development of R shiny applications, interactive visualizations, automate processes and provide continuous support to facilitate centralized tool building and enable real-time, high-quality analysis delivery

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of R, statistics and quantitative sciences in drug development and contributing to scientific advances in the field

  • Possess knowledge of Amgen’s statistical policies and strategies. Serve as team member and drive change / process improvements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience ORMaster’s degree and 4 years of experience ORBachelor’s degree and 6 years ofexperience ORAssociate’s degree and 10 years ofexperience ORHigh school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree, or master’s degree with relevant experience

  • 4 or more years' industry experience of R package/shiny app development

  • Proven project leadership experience

  • Experience in data review/analysis/reporting of clinical trials

  • Excellent R computing, modeling and visualization skills

  • Strong communication an organizational skills
