POLICE OFFICER -- Lateral Transfer
The City of Washington Court House, Ohio, is now accepting applications for lateral transfers to the position of Police Officer.
Applications may be obtained at the City Administration Building, 105 N. Main St. Washington Court House, Ohio 43160 between the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday. The Washington Court House Police Department, 130 N. Description of Duties The Police Officer will be responsible for working a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays under the direct supervision of the Washington Court House Police Department. The officer will be assigned various duties ranging from patrolling streets, enforcing traffic and criminal laws, conducting investigations, public relations, crime prevention and interacting with the public in crisis and non-crisis situations. The officer must qualify with various types of firearms and maintain proficiency with those firearms throughout their career. Other duties as required by the department policies and procedures.
Starting wage effective March 1, 2024 is $26.51 per hour / $55,140.80 annually. A partial listing of additional benefits through the negotiated bargaining agreement are; 12 paid holidays, overtime pay, court pay, paid vacation, paid sick leave, and longevity after 5 years of continuous service.
