NJ Employer Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse in WARWICK, New York
Anticipated period of employment: Apr 15, 2025 to Sep 30, 2025
Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Not all workers are requested to drive; drivers will be required to possess a valid operators license. No one will be rejected for the position that does not possess a class D license. Workers referred as a result of this order must have a minimum of three months of verifiable experience in performing the tasks described in his order.
Workers will perform all tasks related to growing christmas trees, duties include but not limited to: planting, weeding, fertilizing, mulching, watering, mowing, and weed control. Will aslo trim undesirable growth and shape trees using a battery operated rotary pruning machine. Will also help with farm maintenance including mowing, landscaping tasks, road maintenance and cleaning. Occasional additional items will include cutting and stacking firewood and using a wood chipper to clip brush and tree tops.
Workers will be expected to learn how to operate and conduct preventative manitenance on tractors, mowers, chainsaws, hand augers, golf carts, RTV's, trucks and other motorized equipment. There may be occasion to assist in operation of woodworking equipment including a sawmill, planer, table saw, and dehumidification kiln.
Must be physically able to lift up to 85lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day. Due to safety concerns on a farm, workers must understand basic instructions in English.
