Wyoming County Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility Phlebotomist (0.80 FTE) in Warsaw, New York

PHLEBOTOMIST: WYOMING COUNTY COMMUNITY HEALTH SYSTEM

HOURS: All shifts as assigned SALARY: $16.68 - $18.62 per hour

0.80 FTE Part Time

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The incumbent will perform phlebotomy procedures on infants, children, adults and geriatric customers. They are responsible for specimen collection, explanation of non-phlebotomy specimens, processing of phlebotomy specimens, preparation of specimens for delivery within the laboratory or to the laboratory. They will accurately enter patient and specimen data into the computer system or manually onto the patient requisition forms. They will perform basic preventative maintenance, quality control, record maintenance and inventory control, assist in general office work consisting of filing, report delivery and office equipment maintenance. They will provide professional and exceptional customer service and promote teamwork with all personnel of the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, AND

A. Completion of a Medical Technician program from an accredited school; OR

B. Completion of a phlebotomy program from an accredited school; OR

C. Six (6) months of paid full-time laboratory work experience.

NOTES:

  1. Candidates MUST submit a copy of transcripts showing degree area and date degree conferred with application.

  2. Degree(s) must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/ U.S. Secretary of Education. If the degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, the candidate must provide independent verification of equivalency.
