What You Can Expect

This position is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the laboratory at all Zimmer Biomet Warsaw facilities and for operating and maintaining laboratory equipment for the necessary assigned tasks per area work instructions. This position may also be responsible for ensuring that equipment calibration and maintenance (preventive and/or corrective) is performed.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Independently collects data from predefined test/experiments and records output.

  • Data entry and peer review of test results.

  • Performs and/or ensures that required maintenance of laboratory equipment and machinery is completed.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Ability to independently perform lab procedures in a timely manner

  • Ability to operate basic test machines and record key data elements.

  • Should possess an understanding of scientific terminology.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and algebraic equations.

  • Ability to determine proper method for completing tasks from a predefined set of options.

  • Must demonstrate knowledge of computer systems/databases.

  • Must be willing to abide by procedures, federal documents, ISO 13485, GMP’s etc. required by the job.

  • Must be willing to attend educational courses, as required, by the job.

  • Must be able to plan and organize own work activities to complete job assignments within allotted time and do so under pressure of constant deadlines.

  • Must be able to perform lab weekend checks when required.

  • Must possess sound communication skills, both written and verbal, for accurate documentation of testing and lab procedures.

Your Background

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED. College/University courses in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering Mechanics, Medical Technology or other related field preferred.

  • 0 – 3 years applied experience

  • Must have a valid driver’s license in order to perform testing at all Warsaw plants.

  • Must be able to work overtime as the job demands.

  • Must be able to do repetitive bending, climbing, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders to a second story height.

  • Must have good hand dexterity.

  • Must be able to work in a laboratory environment and possess basic knowledge of laboratory/analytical operations.
