Community Health Systems Registration Coord in WARSAW, Indiana

Job Summary

The Registration Coordinator is responsible for training of new and current Patient Access employees on general competencies and the uses of the registration software and associated management computer applications as related to their job functions. Provides updates of insurance information given to all admission and registration staff and training on the uses of the facility information system to all new clinical department employees performing registration functions.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates a quality assurance program for new and existing employees. Works in collaboration with the department Manager(s) of Patient Access and Director of Patient Access.

  • Ensures reports, edits, and denial work queues for Patient Access areas are corrected and completed in timely bases. This includes root cause analysis to determine issues to be corrected with training.

  • Coordinates with the Director of Patient Access, quarterly educational sessions to keep Patient Access staff current on access issues and improve results of the staffs' QA scores.

  • Conducts annual assessment of Patient Access training needs.

  • Assists with developing strategies (and resulting programs) to measure quality key performance indicators for Patient Access functional areas and set goals. Measure the department's actual performance to goals. Implement quality assurance strategies for Patient Access that is consistent with the Hospital's mission, vision, goals, and objectives. Communicates results to Director of Patient Access and Revenue Cycle.

  • Ensures efficient patient processing workflow is maintained with all clinical access management areas on the date of the patient encounter in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Monitors compliance with billing regulations as they relate to the Patient Access department areas of responsibility (providing required information to generate clean claims).

  • Available as a resource to staff for Registration items

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required

  • Associate Degree preferred

  • 1-3 years experience in patient access, registration or customer service duties required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to address participant concerns effectively and professionally.

  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.

  • Medical terminology, data entry, and clerical/data entry skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

Licenses and Certifications

  • CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate preferred
