Title:Deputy Chief Reserving ActuaryCompany:Everest Global Services, Inc.Job Category:AnalyticsJob Description:Everest Group is looking for a Deputy Chief Reserving Actuary to join the Global Finance organization. The position will be based in Warren, NJ, and will report into the SVP, Group Chief Reserving Actuary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and reviewing loss reserving analyses, providing insights into claims liabilities, and driving the reserving transformation process. This position will support the Group Chief Reserving Actuary in the following areas: * Oversee the timely completion of reserve studies and quarter close activities. * Drive harmonization across reinsurance and insurance reserving teams (tools / reporting / methods). * Implement efficiencies in the reserving processes. * Work closely with IT and reserving heads to drive future developments in our reserving platform "Quantum". * Collaborate with finance, underwriting and claims teams to ensure accurate forecasting and risk assessment. * Participate in audit processes and interact with regulators and external stakeholders regarding reserving matters. Support capital modeling, stress testing and risk management initiatives. * Peer review of reserve studies / challenge assumptions. * Monitor adherence to SOX controls. * Preparation of US regulatory filings and Statements of Actuarial Opinion, as well as Earnings Call and Reserve Committee materials.This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in actuarial modeling, and expertise in regulatory requirements. The candidate is expected to possess strong communication, presentation and analytical skills to shepherd process improvement. The candidate will be an independent thinker with the ability to synthesize and distill multiple data sources to draw actionable recommendations. The candidate will have experience in the (re)insurance/financial services industry, ideally with SEC regulated companies.Skills and Qualifications * Fellowship in a globally recognized actuarial society (CAS, IFoA, etc). Strong candidates who are Associates will also be considered. * Strong inter-personal and organizational skills. * Strong technical background with minimum 10 years of reserving experience. * Strong financial acumen with ability to communicate and express ideas both clearly and concisely with Senior Executives, Regulators and Auditors. * Experience in communicating with the executive committee and/or board would be an asset. * Approach tasks proactively, with a keen ability to execute and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. * Lead by example; embrace Everest colleague behaviors.Our Culture At Everest, our purpose is to provide the world with protection.
