Job Description

Mission Technologies, a Division of HII needs a Security Specialist who will support the U.S. Army's Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), Ground Vehicle Survivability & Protection (GVSP).

The security Specialist will perform routine and developmental aspects of security administration functional specialties at various organizational echelons. Assignments entail research of regulations and other policy and procedural guidance and application of those policies and procedures to non-controversial work situations

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare access rosters based on clearance records and assist in the execution of non-disclosure agreements.

  • Assist in the review of personnel security investigations and grant accesses as identified.

  • Review and authorize systems access requests to various DoD and Army systems.

  • Assist with security inspections of meeting spaces and general work areas.

  • Review classified documents for proper markings.

  • Ensure clearance/need-to-know of all visitors attending classified meetings.

  • Assist with Security Awareness training.

  • Ensure visit requests are approved.

  • Assist with physical security inspections.

  • Ensure security containers/vaults/open storage areas for classified information are approved and all inspectable items are accounted for.

  • Assist in preparation of security briefings, debriefings, and administration of security awareness programs by gathering statistics and obtaining background information by researching regulations or other documents.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 year experience with Bachelor's in related field or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.

  • Familiar with DoD security systems.

  • High level of attention to detail.

  • Ability to work onsite.

  • Clearance: An active SECRET security clearance required.

Physical Requirements

  • Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
