Responsibilities Maintain continuous liaison with concerned personnel to fully coordinate pertinent information relative to assigned programs. Manage a comprehensive program of logistical support. Develop logistic plans to assure integration of various logistic functions in support of assigned vehicles or projects. Participates in the development of basic budgetary requirements for adequate logistics support of assigned systems. Serves as the principal point of contact for all logistics support activities for assigned vehicle systems. Evaluate and coordinate efforts of the functional specialist to identify specific requirements and to develop and adjust plans and schedules to meet each requirement as scheduled. Assess system deployment plans to assure that distribution and support planning is substantive and accurate. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service which includes: (1) Developing integrated logistics support plans; AND (2) Developing and managing logistics contract requirements; AND (3) Providing logistical support on maintenance and supply procedures; AND (4) Managing development of technical data (such as technical manuals, provisioning, and training). The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower band/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Maintenance Planning and Management Product Support Management Supply Support Sustaining Engineering Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Level 3 (Advanced) Acquisition Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty. Position is designated non-critical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2 This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis which may take up to 90 days or longer to process. The selectee may be allowed to start work prior to adjudication if management approved. Obtaining and maintaining a secret security clearance is a condition of employment. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly. Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE 1 year. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army Employees applying for a temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
