Job Description

ATS Scientific Productsis searching for a highly skilled and experiencedLead Mechanical Engineerto join our dynamic team!

As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading the design and development of pharmaceutical equipment, while also mentoring junior engineers and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of pharmaceutical equipment, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in all aspects of mechanical engineering, including heat transfer, vacuum systems, refrigeration, and control systems.

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful project execution.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and write detailed functional specifications for pharmaceutical equipment, ensuring clarity and accuracy in documentation to guide the engineering design process.

  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for lyophilization equipment.

  • Conduct design reviews and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize pharmaceutical equipment performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries and support related to lyophilization equipment.

  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in lyophilization engineering.

  • Manage the day-to-day tasks of the mechanical engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of designing and developing pharmaceutical equipment.

  • Proven track record of effectively leading multidisciplinary engineering teams through all stages of project development, from conceptualization to implementation, resulting in the delivery of high-quality design solutions.

  • Spearheaded and coordinated collaborative efforts among engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence to achieve project goals and objectives.

  • Utilized strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate team members, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency.

  • Implemented strategic planning and resource allocation strategies to optimize team performance and productivity, ultimately contributing to the successful execution of complex engineering projects

  • Established and maintained clear communication channels within the team, facilitating the exchange of ideas, feedback, and best practices to enhance overall team cohesion and effectiveness.

  • Leveraged analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify potential challenges and risks early in the project lifecycle, proactively implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project deliverables and timelines.

  • Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in navigating evolving project requirements and priorities, effectively managing changes while upholding quality standards and meeting stakeholder expectations.

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, processes, and equipment design.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience working in a regulated industry, such as pharmaceuticals or biotechnology, preferred.

  • Knowledge of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) standards and regulations pertaining to pressure-rated vessels.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
