Position Title: Lot Attendant

Reports to: Store Manager or Service Manager

Location: Wamego, Kansas

Employee Status: Full Time-Permanent

Purpose: The Lot Attendant successfully completes all tasks related to the effective maintenance and management of the Store Lot (grounds) and Service Department, in ways that support the efficiency of the stores sales and service operations, merchandising of equipment, and the overall image and reputation of the company.

Job Responsibilities (ranked in significance):

Company Values: Ensures all company values are adhered to and promoted. This would include leading by example and participation in employee recognition programs.

Lot Condition: Keeps the lot clean and organized, including the loading dock area clean and free of discarded shipping material. Responsible for keeping lot graded, dust control, snow removal, and clean of trash.

Equipment Loading and Unloading: Unloads new equipment and tags for inventory. Helps truck drivers load equipment for transit. Removes defined accessories (top links, PTOs, hitches, monitors, operators manuals) and stores them as instructed. Helps customers load and unload and communicates with the service office on customer equipment brought into the dealership. Completes paperwork (green sheet) for newly arrived items.

Equipment Condition and Merchandising: Monitors and maintains the condition of equipment on the lot. Tracks all related attachments, ensuring they are tagged and easily retrievable on demand. Helps Store Manager and Sales Department in effectively merchandising and rotating equipment for maximum customer visibility and exposure. Winterizes all equipment on lot in early Fall, checking antifreeze then and for all incoming units during the winter.

Shop Maintenance: Check air compressors, oil levels; service compressors semi-annually. Check waste oil heaters and transfer oil as needed. Checks pressure washer daily.

Communications: Ensures good communication within location personnel and other locations as needed regarding equipment.

Safety: Ensures safety in all practices and equipment movement. Follows all safety and compliance regulations.

Trucking Assistance: Helps trucking department with reporting service needs for all trucks including those without designated drivers. Assists trucking in transporting items locally and flagging as required.

Other Duties as Assigned: Assists other personnel as directed and needed. Assist with end of day tasks lights off and buildings locked. Runs local errands, including organizing and hauling iron to salvage. Monitor fuel tanks and replace fuel filters as needed. Watch wash pits, managing sludge to maximize pit life. If there is no apparent work to be done, let supervisor know of available time.
