INTEGRA INC Industrial Sewing Machine Operator in WALWORTH, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: This position is responsible for sewing all components needed for Upholstery with sewing machine, serger machine, and double needle machine. Must demonstrate a keen eye for detail to find possible flaws in fabric and correct in order to produce consistent, high quality upholstery covers. Duties and responsibilities Using Industrial Sewing, Serger, Double Needle machines Knowledge of Patterns Using hand tools Knowledge of parts used in the manufacturing processes Learning different processes for various product lines Meet/Exceed quality standards Complete production paperwork Follow production schedule Clean/organized work area daily Wear required PPE Experience in Industrial Sewing in a high volume manufacturing preferred. We may be able to train the right candidate with good sewing skills. Place spools of thread, cord, or other materials on spindles, insert bobbins, and thread ends through machine guides and components. Position items under needles, using marks on machines, clamps, templates, or cloth as guides. Guide garments or garment parts under machine needles and presser feet to sew parts together. Remove holding devices and finished items from machines. Match cloth pieces in correct sequences prior to sewing them, and verify that dye lots and patterns match. Fold or stretch edges or lengths of items while sewing to facilitate forming specified sections. Cut excess material or thread from finished products. Select supplies such as fasteners and thread, according to job requirements. Examine and measure finished articles to verify conformance to standards, using rulers. Start and operate or tend machines, such as single or double needle serging and flat-bed felling machines, to automatically join, reinforce, or decorate material or articles. Record quantities of materials processed. Turn knobs, screws, and dials to adjust settings of machines, according to garment styles and equipment performance. Repair or alter items by adding replacement parts or missing stitches. Perform equipment maintenance tasks such as replacing needles, sanding rough areas of needles, or cleaning and oiling sewing machines. Mount attachments, such as needles, cutting blades, or pattern plates, and adjust machine guides according to specifications. Cut materials according to specifications, using blades, scissors, or electric knives. We are an equal opportunity employer. Physical requirements Frequent lifting up to 30 pounds Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds Occasional lifting over 50 pounds with assistance Frequent bending, pushing, pulling Handling and operation of hand tools Pulling/pushing hand carts, hand trucks Safety glasses required and other PPE; depending on work area Must be able to work 10 hour shifts and overtime as scheduled.
