Evaluate designs and proposed means and methods and summarize the associated construction and schedule risk implications to the client and identifies key aspects of the construction process and to perform effective field observations and properly document the work. Devise new approaches to problems encountered and communicate the information to clients inside and outside the firm. Review the work of team members who assist in specific assignments. Support project managers and develop schedules and task assignments, coordinate, and participate in the development of deliverables, attend project meetings, regularly communicate with team, and answer technical questions. Prepare project reports. Prepare independent structural calculations and review calculations of others and include independent characterization of problem with information to develop solution. Responsible for publishing engineering papers. Gather data and conduct research with regard to past relevant projects and report on findings. Conduct stability analysis and retaining wall/excavation support design. Work on a variety of office and field assignments, with a focus on geotechnical engineering analysis, development of drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical memoranda that present the basis of design. Carry out geotechnical design and reporting (engineering, data, and baseline reports) for assigned projects using geotechnical analysis software for stability analysis, seepage analysis, shoring analysis and site response analysis. Position may include additional duties that utilize the required skills. Telecommuting permitted up to 40%; employee must reside within normal commuting distance of company's office in Walnut Creek, California. Position requires incidental travel to unanticipated field sites within the State of California. Qualifications: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field, and one year of experience in: Performing geotechnical design and reporting utilizing geotechnical analysis software, including CT-Shoring, SAP2
