Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Specialist ( Geologist, Engineer, or Scientist) to join our team! In this role you will get to help clean up soil and groundwater contamination in California . Come help us make the world a better place!

What You'll Be Doing:

Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories

  • Perform Treatment System operation and maintenance (O&M), Daily or weekly record gauge and totalizer readings,

  • Weekly Treatment System filter changes,

  • Monthly Treatment System sampling,

  • Annual and Semi-Annual sampling and gauging of extraction and monitoring wells at multiple sites,

  • Trailer towing and maneuvering,

  • Subcontractor oversight,

  • Frequent note taking and records collection,

  • Management of property (inspecting condition of property and housekeeping on a regular basis),

  • Interpreting analytical results and compile data into tables,

  • Writing groundwater monitoring reports,

  • Support other projects as needed, and

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, geology or engineering curriculum related to the assigned discipline is required.

  • 0-3 years of related work experience.

  • Familiarity with software packages typically associated with the discipline is required (Adobe Acrobat, M.S. Word, M.S. Excel, M.S. Outlook).

  • Clean DMV record is required as you will be driving Parsons Vehicles.

  • Willingness and comfort with towing and maneuvering trailers.

  • Experience doing so is a plus.

  • Basic self-organization and writing skills.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Ability to perform frequent, cyclical field work out of town with overnight stays for multiple consecutive days is required.

  • Strong ability to understand and comply with verbal and written instructions is required.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to collect extensive field notes and records is required.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team and as a lone worker with frequent transition between the two is required.

  • Knowledgeable and/or experience in groundwater sampling is a big plus.

  • HAZWOPER training is a plus.

  • O&M experience or mechanically inclined (optimal), as this position requires you to be in the field, performing some physical work and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

Salary Range:

$25.34 - $44.33
