Robert Half Corporate Tax Staff Accountant in Walnut Creek, California

Description

We are seeking a Corporate Tax Staff Accountant to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and revolves around tax and fixed assets accounting. The chosen candidate will be involved in various duties that require strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of general ledger accounting. Client open to train a sharp Staff Accountant with solid general ledger knowledge through journaling, and an analytical mind. This contract to hire is an excellent opportunity to learn, grow and develop your accounting and analysis skills.

Responsibilities:

• Scrubbing and automating fixed asset data

• Analyzing system data and tax data to identify the need for adjustments

• Making journal entries adjustments into accounting and fixed assets systems

• Processing and ensuring accurate tax filings and related journals, including income tax, in-pats tax, and fixed assets taxes

• Participating in month-end reconciliations of income tax

• Ensuring compliance and correct booking of tax filings

• Preparing for government agency correspondence

• Collaborating with the accounting team for data interpretation and decision-making

• Routinely auditing and reconciling account entries

• Utilizing ERP solutions and accounting software systems for efficient task completion

Requirements

• Proficient knowledge in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ERP Solutions

• Solid understanding of Accrual Accounting

• Experience with Auditing procedures

• Ability to manage General Ledger transactions

• Expertise in Account Reconciliation

• Proficient in creating and managing Journal Entries

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Prior experience in a corporate tax role, preferably in the Food & Food Processing industry

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
