Elevance Health Pharmacy Account Director, Medicare in Wallingford, Connecticut

In this pivotal role on our CarelonRx Medicare Sales and Account Management team, the Pharmacy Account Director is tasked with the responsibility of developing, preserving and deepening relationships with clients which include Elevance Health Medicare Health Plans. This position, structured around geographic regions and lines of business, requires substantial knowledge in the Medicare business as well as an understanding of the intricate workings of a pharmacy benefit manager. Ideal incumbents are likely to be proficient clinicians such as pharmacists. This position can work in a hybrid way 1-2 days per week from any US corporate Elevance Health location.
How you will make an impact:
Handling a variety of Medicare pharmacy accounts.
Utilizing strong account management experience to cater to complex needs of distinct clients like Medicare.
Skillfully interpreting pharmacy data and narrating a compelling narrative to our clients. Assist in the development of recommendations for outcomes-based savings and revenue opportunities
Ensuring our clients feel supported and their needs are comprehended and met effectively.
Collaborating closely with the clinical teams for programs and outcomes, home delivery, specialty pharmacy and infusion, operations, networks, products, STARS, CAHPS, and other internal stakeholders to execute strategic sales and tactical plans.
Deftly partnering with other leaders across Carelon services relating to pharmacies like behavioral health and palliative care, to foster future client partnerships.
Creating and presenting bespoke reporting packages contingent on client preferences.
BA/BS along with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination gathering education and experience.
Preferred skills and experiences:
-Pharmacist by profession with an active Pharmacy License
-Knowledge of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the implications it poses on the pharmacy.
-Understanding of the M3P program which influences drug affordability for Medicare members.
-Understanding of the benefit design and formularies, specifically for Part D.
-Experience in a pharmacy benefit management organization leading accounts, preferably Medicare accounts.
-Exceptional sales and account management skills with experience navigating the delicate balance of delivering service and sometimes needing to strategically push back, maintaining a robust partner-centric relationship. Success in this role isn't merely about client retention, but about fostering growth and developing a superior understanding of the integrated pharmacy business. All while ensuring that communication remains seamless and transparent, given its paramount importance in the industry.

Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy.
