Banner Bank Principal Microsoft 365 Engineer in Walla Walla, Washington

The Principal Microsoft 365 Engineer will serve as the key technical leader and advocate for the effective use of SharePoint within Banner. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the SharePoint environment to enhance collaboration, document management, and operational efficiency across the organization. The Principal SharePoint Engineer will work closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to promote and drive adoption of SharePoint solutions, ensuring they align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. By leveraging deep technical expertise, the individual will develop best practices, optimize performance, and enable innovative uses of SharePoint to support the bank's strategic and operational goals. (Note: position can be remote within Banner Bank's operating footprint: Washington state, Oregon, California, Idaho, or Utah) In this role you will have the opportunity to: Design, develop, and maintain the SharePoint and broader Microsoft 365 (M365) ecosystem, including on-premise and cloud environments (SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Online, etc.). Architect scalable, secure, and integrated M365 solutions to meet business needs and ensure high availability across services. Act as the primary advocate for the adoption and utilization of M365 services, including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate). Lead efforts to promote and drive adoption of these tools for enhanced collaboration, document management, and workflow automation. Conduct user training sessions, create documentation, and offer ongoing support to facilitate bank-wide usage. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective SharePoint solutions, including custom workflows, apps, and dashboards. Implement integration with other enterprise applications such as Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and third-party systems. Ensure the SharePoint environment is compliant with the bank's regulatory requirements, security protocols, and data governance policies. Define and enforce SharePoint governance, including permissions, document retention policies, and data privacy standards. Administers and may assist in design, development, modifications, and support of SharePoint online web content; may act as the technical lead for web-driven application projects. Serve as the technical expert for M365 solutions, working closely with IT, security teams, and business units to deliver integrated solutions that drive operational efficiency. Provide advanced support for M365 services (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange) and resolve complex technical issues. Act as the escalation point for support teams and take lead in incident and problem resolution related to M365 services. Education & Certifications Bachelor's Degree: In computer science, information systems, or related field or comparable vocational technical training required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered) Experience 8 or more years experience in Microsoft Office, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive admin experience, Azure applications, and Azure administration experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to learn and apply new technology Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical users Knowledge of federal and state laws/regulations relative to the IT industry Travel Up to 20% Compensation & Benefits Targeted starting compensation range is based on location and experience: $135,000 - $174,000 annually Incentive and commission compensation may be awarded for eligible roles Comprehensive employee benefits, including: medical, dental, vision, LTD, STD and life Paid vacation time, sick time, personal days, paid
