We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Rental Specialist position!
Here is some of what you’ll do…
POSITION SUMMARY:Under the general direction of the Director of Sales and Rentals, the Rental Specialist assists in managing rental equipment, rents equipment in the Hawthorne Rent It Service rental fleet, and compiles information for reporting purposes.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Quotes customers daily, weekly, and monthly rental rates and rents out the equipment.
Explains terms and conditions of the rental to the customer.
Prepares rental agreements, insurance forms, invoicing, and all required documents to consummate the transaction.
Arranges the delivery and/or pickup of the equipment with the shop or contracts haulers.
Keeps track of all equipment out on rent and in the rental fleet. Logs daily activity. When equipment is not returned by specified date, ensures customers are contacted and billed for additional days.
Is responsible for collection when a customer is a cash customer.
Returns equipment and issues credit or additional billing.
Upon return of equipment, checks for damage and coordinates with service for fueling, repairs, etc.
With the approval of the Rental Sales Manager, advises and bills the customer for the cost of repair in the event of machine abuse.
Gathers and compiles rental activity information and prepares and distributes equipment utilization reports monthly.
Recommends models of equipment to be added or removed from the rental fleet.
Serves customers in a courteous and diplomatic manner.
Maintains a good working relationship with customers and other employees.
Maintains good communication with all contacts.
Ensures every message receives prompt attention and courtesy and provides sufficient information to all callers.
Maintains equipment records manually and digitally accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensures respective managers are informed on all matters of managerial importance.
Maintains knowledge of Hawthorne Rent It Service equipment.
Understands and complies with HRIS credit policies.
Submits lost rental reports on a timely basis.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.
Must have PC skills.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
Must have some experience in product application and vendor experiences.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Walking: Moves about on foot, often up and down stairs.
Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.
Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous paperwork.
Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
Climbing: In and out of equipment.
Vision: Reads work tickets and parts books.
Talking: Communicates by radio, phone, and in person.
Sitting: Sits at desk for extended periodss.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
Temp/Weather: Works in an office and shop environment with variations of temperature and weather.
