As a self-motivated member of the Diageo, Balcones Distillery Packaging Team, you will provide support, training and mentor to your fellow team members, and encourage and engage others. We believe in giving you the opportunity to also work closely with multi-functional departments (Operations, Risk, Quality, Maturation, Logistics, and Procurement) to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the facility.

FUNCTIONS OVERVIEW

We believe that as the successful employee in this position you will be trusted with performing all job functions with safety in mind. You will also be exposed to a noisy environment, working around moving machinery and vehicles while regularly lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.

PAY RATE : $17.50/hour and an annual incentive plan targeting a bonus of 10%

WORK LOCATION : 225 S. 11th Street, Waco, TX 76701

SCHEDULE : Schedule presently is 7am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

ELEMENTS FOR YOUR SUCCESS

To be successful, it is essential that you exemplify safety and quality procedures to the fullest of your ability. Accomplish tasks such as manual work and cleaning (erect empty cases, uncase empty bottles and placing on conveyors or into boxes, cleaning, and re-working labels, replace stickers, ribbons, designs etc.)

You will operate forklifts to move raw materials and dry supplies (Applicants with forklift experience preferred)

GENERAL DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Perform all responsibilities in compliance with safety, quality, sanitation, and housekeeping rules.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP), perform tasks per the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and guidelines for Food Safety Regulations.

  • Keep area(s) updated with 5S.

  • Cleaning and troubleshooting of machinery to maintain optimum machine performance using tools to scrape, wipe, sweep, squeegee. You will need to clear jams, adjust and reset equipment, remove glue and labels.

  • Repair substandard packages by relabeling bottles, restacking boxes on pallet.

  • Loading equipment with packaging supplies. This may include lifting overhead.

  • Picking up, moving, and dumping garbage and recycling containers.

  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned/advised.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS

  • Lifting – Minimum: 50 lbs. constantly

  • Repetitive Motion – Constant handing of bottles, packaging supplies, or equipment.

  • Dexterity – Frequent manipulating of controls, repairing of substandard packages, frequent completion of paperwork.

  • Climbing – we crossover stairs, staircases / ladders, stepstools

  • Standing / Sitting – we frequently stand and sit based on equipment

  • Walking – Frequent to Constant

  • Pushing and pulling – Minimal to frequent depending on loads

  • Vibration – Minimal
