Schedule Weekly Hours: 32 The Gundersen St. Elizabeth's HIM (Health Information Management) team is looking for a Documentation Specialist. The 0.8 FTE will work 32 hours per week, with an established scheduled Monday thru Friday. Typical working hours will be 8:00 - 4:30 p.m. Job Description: Monitor documentation in the electronic health record to ensure accuracy, integrity and completeness. Support the timely collection, analysis, and availability of patient health care records to assist with continuity of care. Provides input and recommendations on resolving and identifying issues. Major Responsibilities: 1. Organize and file all patients' medical records including charts and reports in order to compile documentation of conditions and treatments. 2. Assist with departmental audits and research. 3. Release information to persons and agencies according to regulations. 4. Professional level position, working under general supervision responsible for clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic procedures. 5. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Learning: REQUIRED Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and education Work Experience: REQUIRED Two years' experience License and Certifications: REQUIRED Valid Driver's License (DL) Age Specific Population Served: N/A OSHA Category: Category III - No employees in this job title have a reasonably anticipated risk of occupational exposure to blood and/or other potentially infectious materials. Environmental Conditions: Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).
