Job Title: Painter Technician

Job Description

The Paint-prep Technician in the Paint Department is responsible for performing all tasks involved in prepping the company’s composite parts for painting. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. You will be working with prepping parts and paint for the lamination and fabrication department. Responsibilities include prepping and mixing paint based on the traveler, performing proper sanding and polishing techniques, surface preparation, and painting preparation techniques. You will verify that work is performed in accordance with the operations policy and procedures, assure that all work records and statements of work are performed to specifications, and ensure that all interim quality inspections are performed. Additionally, you will properly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record (traveler), verify daily that all products are properly identified and maintained, and assure that all work areas are clean and orderly at the end of the shift. You will be responsible for maintaining equipment and tools in a serviceable and working condition, be aware of FOD & Tool control at all times, continuously demonstrate 5S application, and participate in internal training as needed. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

This is a fully on-site position in Vista, California.
