Upward Bound Science Academic Content Specialist - PT (Grant-Funded)

Salary:$25.00 per hour

This a grant-funded position. Grant-funded positions expire either at the end of the stated term or whenever funding for the position ceases.

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a part-time Upward Bound Science Academic Content Specialist in our College Pipeline Programs department. This position will teach for MVCC’s Upward Bound 6-week Summer College to program participants who attend high school during the regular academic year and are in grades 9-12. Instruction will be 10-15 hours per week. Content areas needed are Math, Science, and English.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Develops a curriculum that is age appropriate, as well as aligned with NYS learning standards, that is age appropriate for grades 9-12;

  • Teaches the classroom instruction based on the curriculum developed;

  • Assists with lunch supervision in the College’s cafeteria;

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a content related field

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree and NYS Teacher Certification
