Walbridge Technical Commissioning Manager in United States

Overview

Walbridge is growing rapidly in Data Centers (ENR top 10) and has a dynamic opportunity for a Technical Manager - CX to coordinate and manage all activities related to the construction startup and commissioning of the mechanical, electrical, and control systems in to meet the customers needs. Living allowance provided - you can live anywhere in the US.

Technical Engineers act as technical experts for a specific discipline to insure all related construction activities are performed in accordance with accepted professional standards. They work to solve complex technical field-related problems, and manage the equipment startup and commissioning process (V-Start). They assist in the implementation of the project’s 4-phase quality control plan, and monitor field construction of mechanical and / or electrical subcontractors for schedule management and conformance to contract documents.

    Location:

    This position can be based out of any Walbridge office, or you can live in any US city if you are able to travel 100%.

Responsibilities

  • Assist bidding mechanical and electrical trades

  • Manage Equipment Procurement process

  • Develop MEP critical path schedule

  • Coordinate and track critical path construction

  • Track and coordinate equipment deliveries

  • Review mechanical and electrical submittals

  • Work with subcontractors and design team to provide conflict resolution for MEP issues

  • Coordinate and manage the quality control process for MEP systems construction

  • Manage startup and pretesting of mechanical and electrical systems

  • Coordinate and support third party commissioning activities

  • Manage commissioning documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Construction

  • Capable in coordinating and scheduling MEP activities

  • Preconstruction / Equipment Procurement Experience

  • Ability to accept project assignments that may require extended long term temporary living arrangements or frequent travel to non-local job sites.
