Defense Security Service Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) in United States

Summary DCSA's Industrial Security Office is looking for Supervisory Information Systems Security Professionals (ISSP) Team Lead with responsibility for oversight of complex information assurance and cyber related activities at cleared contractor sites across the country. The ISSP employs technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to ensure information systems security managers understand and implement the technical controls and processes required for INFOSEC. Responsibilities As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) you will be responsible for the following duties: Serve as the supervisor of a team of Information Technology Specialists within the assigned region. Serve as a member of the ISFO management team reporting to the Regional Designated Approving Authority (RDAA). Provide assistance to the RDAA in managing the regions information assurance efforts to include certification/accreditation and review responsibilities Provide supervision, guidance, mentoring and direction to Information System Security Professionals throughout a geographically dispersed area in the application of the Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework to National Industrial Security Program stakeholders. Lead Information System Security Control Assessment activities at the Regional Field Office, coordinating with Cleared Defense Contractors in the NISP and government stakeholders, delivering IT risk recommendations to the Regional Authorizing Official. Perform analysis,evaluation, and verification of defense contractor security plans for computer systems, networks, IS, and emerging technology solutions to ensure protection of classified information. Deliver IT security and risk management oversight through collaborative engagements with Military, US government, and industry partner customers throughout the Continental United States (CONUS). Advise Regional leadership on information systems Cybersecurity issues, program requirements and personnel resources influencing accomplishment of Regional goals and objectives.- Key contributor to the Field Office Business Planning process, prioritizing resources, developing short and long term goals and objectives aligned with Agency strategic plan. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GG/GS-13) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Utilizing a wide range of Cybersecurity and advanced Information Technology concepts, principles, and practices to apply to difficult and complex work assignments; Performing technical Cybersecurity assessments of Information Systems; Utilizing risk management principles to perform risk analysis; Evaluating and applying information assurance regulations, policies, and procedures to analyze operating/developmental computer systems and identifying deficiencies in their ability to safeguard classified data and information; Leading teams to accomplish organizational objectives. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: Communications - Communicate (i.e., written and oral) rights, responsibilities, management directives, policies, and/or regulations to employees, supervisors, and/or other pertinent individuals. Cybersecurity - Protect and defend information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. (AKA Information Assurance) Information Technology Performance Assessment - Conduct continuous performance measurement to ensure that Information Technology activities, processes, and/or hardware/software are achieving desired results. Leadership - Influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations. Network Management - Knowledge of the operation, management, and maintenance of network and telecommunication systems and linked systems and peripherals. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
