The Role

Due to our success and the expanding adoption of Postgres our addressable market is significant. We are growing the local sales team by adding an Strategic Account Executive to be focused on A/NZ. You will be responsible for formulating and executing a strategy for the territory which includes some existing customers and many target prospects. A priority is hitting personal sales targets via growing the existing customers and effectively prospecting for new logos.

You will be supported by a broader team of Sales Engineers, Inside Sales, Professional Services, Customer Success, Partners, Marketing and others - though you are responsible for aligning these resources to enable success within each account and prospect.

Experience successfully selling into the enterprise market is expected. A successful track-record in enterprise database or data management solutions is an advantage, though not as important as being able to sell into the IT exec level as well as engage with the lower levels.

We put a big effort into our sales onboarding program which is generally rated as excellent by new hires. Even if you don’t have a database background, within weeks you will have the knowledge & confidence to be effective and you have the Sales Engineers to help you with the harder stuff.

What your impact will be:

  • Meet and exceed sales quota through outbound/inbound leads strategically selling the value of EDB’s products to key decision makers

  • Generate and grow new ARR license revenue in assigned accounts and territory.

  • Develop and maintain sales plans, metrics and strategy to deliver annual sales targets.

  • Qualify and cultivate leads generated from our website, trade shows and other marketing efforts, etc.

  • Build strong relationships resulting in growth opportunities

  • Establish and expand knowledge of our products, competitors and industry trends

  • Work within a matrix team structure of Sales, Sales Engineers, Inside Sales, Partners, Professional Services, Marketing and Sales Operations to own, plan and execute a regional GTM strategy for the territory.

What you will bring:

  • 7+ years of enterprise software sales experience

  • Proven track record of successfully selling strategic & complex enterprise software solutions into our relevant markets.

  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities to meet deadlines, setting direction for and ensuring the success of all sales and customer interactions.

  • Proficient in creating pipeline, developing and executing close plans that overachieve sales and revenue goals

  • Develop strategic approaches to target accounts whereby positioning EDB solutions

  • Be able to prospect effectively at all levels

  • Be able to accurately forecast the business to leadership

  • Strong acumen in technology and ability to articulate solution value proposition.

  • Self-motivated, driven for success and delivers results through direct and channel partners

  • Excellent planning, preparation and presentation skills for executive meetings.

  • Ability to work independently and also within a matrix team environment
