We are looking for capable, innovative, and enthusiastic achievers to join our team and grow with us. We are currently seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer for our site in Charleston, TN.
What you will do:
The Senior Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing strategic asset reliability and maintenance programs across multiple plant locations within the US Region. The position also serves as a subject matter expert (SME), focusing on developing and sustaining standards and best practices. These efforts aim to ensure consistency and standardization in reliability program operations throughout the region by working closely with local plant engineering, operations, and maintenance counterparts to facilitate the achievement of organizational objectives.
Improve the performance of physical assets and establish strategies to enhance maintenance and reliability performance using KPIs. Collaborate with plant leadership, engineering teams, corporate functions, external partners, and contractors to achieve these goals.
Provide reliability and maintenance expertise on capital projects to ensure equipment reliability and maintainability. Support Installation Qualification during commissioning and validate updates to equipment strategies and specifications in the CMMS database as needed.
Lead cross-site reliability initiatives to standardize processes and drive improvements across multiple locations. Assist and support local teams (e.g., plant and project engineering) in identifying, collecting, analyzing, and managing data to reduce failures and improve performance. Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and plant personnel on advanced reliability methodologies and tools.
Create and implement reliability strategies at sites, including Asset Criticality Assessments, FMEA’s, Proactive Maintenance (PM) strategies, and Spare Parts analyses. Develop and monitor corporate-level KPIs, dashboards, and reporting systems to monitor and improve asset performance. Align proactive maintenance strategies (e.g., preventive, and predictive tasks) with asset criticality to ensure efficient and effective processes. Conduct and facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for significant or recurring failures, including FMEA when necessary, and implement strategy improvements to prevent recurrence
Ensure best practices in CMMS utilization, including maintaining accurate preventive and predictive maintenance procedures as well as asset master data, hierarchy, and configuration. Analyze CMMS data to enhance reliability and reduce maintenance costs while ensuring visibility of performance metrics to site managers. Drive the implementation and sustainability of effective workflow processes, including work request management, work request authorization, work order planning, kitting, scheduling, execution, and documentation/closure
Benchmark asset reliability performance and determine best practices, collaborating closely with local teams. Oversee asset lifecycle management for critical corporate physical assets, focusing on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and long-term performance optimization.
Develop tools to identify recurring mechanical issues and collaborate with plant engineers to resolve them effectively. Provide technical expertise for Process Safety Management (PSM) and Mechanical Integrity (MI) programs.
Perform other duties as required to support organizational objectives
What we need from you:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in engineering is required; at least 3 years’ experience in asset reliability engineering is preferred
Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional accreditation preferred
Must be willing to travel approximately 25% of time
Practical knowledge of relevant industry codes, such as API and ASME, and the application of Non-Destructive Testing methodologies
Solid understanding of predictive and preventative maintenance programs
Knowledge of maintenance best practices in the chemical industry preferred
Ability to mentor, train, facilitate, and influence others in the use of reliability tools and systems
Experience with Mechanical Integrity and Process Safety Management Programs
Experience in plant engineering and maintenance in a chemical plant preferred, manufacturing experience required
Practical understanding of MRO best practices and Inventory Management
Practical knowledge of fixed equipment fabrication, operation & maintenance, repair, and alteration
Ability to effectively solve problems and manage multiple priorities and programs
Experience with SAP CMMS preferred, CMMS experience required
Experience in reliability tools and methods (e.g., GE APM) required
Experience with rotating equipment (e.g., pumps and compressors) preferred
Reliability program implementation and oversight experience preferred
