MKS Instruments Inc Sr Buyer in United States

A Day in Your Life at MKS:As a Senior Buyer at MKS, you will partner with Procurement, Engineering, Planning, Quality, Commodity teams to purchase material at the best cost, on time, with the best quality (ex. develop, support, execute, purchase, contribute, etc.). In this role, you will report to the Procurement Supervisor.

This position will require travel between 15% and 30% of the time and a valid passport and visa.You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Plan, schedule and monitor material movement through the production cycle Evaluate vendor reliability and develop solutions in case of material shortages

  • Monitor cost and consolidate contracts where required to create cost-effective purchasing models

  • Develop new supply sources where required to keep operations stocked and able to generate the desired output

  • Actively maintain inventory and collaborate with operations to ensure appropriate stock

  • Manage purchase order placement and confirmations using MRP; follow up on past dues and shortages, negotiate pricing, and update ERP attributes (LT and MOQ)

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve issues effectively

  • Follow and achieve KPIs

Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and good writing and oral communication skills

  • CPIM and/or APICS certification required

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 90% of the time

  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information

  • Operates in a professional office

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
