Uber Senior People Analytics Analyst, Data Governance in United States

About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the transformation of our people processes and technology by ensuring data accuracy and driving data literacy across the organization. You will be responsible for implementing a comprehensive data governance strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and enhancing the use of people's data to drive business decisions. This role will sit in our Dallas office and report into the Director, People Data Management.

What You'll Do:

  • Implement a comprehensive data governance strategy aligned with strategic business objectives, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the organization.

  • Execute data quality standards, ensuring data observability and consistency across various systems and processes.

  • Leverage the developed data governance standards and policies to assess current processes, identify gaps, and drive remediation efforts to align with best practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align the data governance strategy with future-state people processes, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.

  • Partner with the Uber data team to enable data governance tools for data cataloging, master data management, and metadata management.

  • Develop best practice guidelines for self-service data access and usage, empowering users to follow best practices in all aspects of business data management.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data governance, data architecture, and data management to keep the People Data and Analytics team innovative and forward-thinking.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of experience in data governance, data strategy, data architecture, data modeling, or a similar role.

  • Proficiency in advanced SQL queries and data management practices

  • Proficiency in data governance, master data management, and data quality concepts

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with People data

  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks and strategies for large-scale business data platforms.

  • Proven experience as a data governance lead, preferably in an execution role.

  • Strong hands-on experience in data management, data warehousing, and data modeling.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills in complex business data environments.

  • Understanding of dimensional modeling and open-source databases (e.g., Hive).

  • Proven experience working in cross-functional, highly matrix environments with strong collaboration and communication skills.

  • Passion for solving complex large-scale business data challenges with a go-getter mentality.

  • Experience working in customer-centric organizations.

  • Has CDMP, CBIP or similar certifications

For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$112,000 per year - USD$124,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$124,000 per year - USD$137,500 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$124,000 per year - USD$137,500 per year. For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$124,000 per year - USD$137,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
