Virtual Service Operations is looking for an experienced individual to join our team and manage the database administration for a variety of critical SAP environments. Qualifications:
Install, configure, and apply patches to all databases
Approve all new database patches and upgrades
Implement direct-path database upgrades (i.e. one-step upgrades)
Schedule backup jobs on database servers with frequency tailored to each application requirements
Provide Oracle Database filesystem layout and/or ASM disk sizes, including permissions, LUN sizes, device/mount point ownership, or dependencies required to setup a new database (i.e. LUN size and configuration)
Create Linux partitions for DB2 instances
Perform database backup and/or recovery
Perform database security health checks as defined by the Governance model
Create/modify/remove database IDs per customer or application team generated Service Requests
Provide Database refreshes per customer Service Requests
Perform database filegroup and filesystem / tablespace space management including capacity planning and space addition
Ensure Database monitoring setup/configuration from client Monitoring team
Execute application team/Logical DBA provided scripts such as gathering stats, database parameter changes, and object modification
Install, patch, and upgrade customer-provided vendor management tools (SQL Profiler and SQL Management Studio for SQL, Oracle Cloud Control for Oracle, etc.) to take advantage of process improvements, and new and improved tools therein, and provide access to the customer on an as-requested basis
Provide physical database architecture design, creation, administration, and recommendations
Provide Monthly maintenance window and other change control support activities.
Provide Emergency production system support (Sev1/Sev2, 24x7)
Provide Requisite communications with Database vendors, including tickets and escalations
Provide database reports (SSRS for SQL Server, ADDM/AWR/ASH for Oracle, etc.) and database error logs to application teams/logical DBA teams in support of problem, debugging, and resolution
Contribute Physical DBA insight into the filegroup management strategy, and advise on new database versions, based on vendor support matrices
Approve new database versions for production use
Provide incident ticket response, corrective actions, and issue resolution
Provide Service Request response and implementation
Create, maintain, and adhere to standard work documentation
Review new application database request /deployment per IT Governance model
Maintain and promulgate contact information for application owners in the environment.
Communicate planned changes or outages within the database environment to application owners
Assist in identification of root causes, and correction of problems in order to minimize recurrences of missed Service Level Agreements
Adhere to ACE, Security, SOX, and audit compliance policies and procedures as defined by the Client's IT Governance requirements
Provide database maintenance activities in application-owner provided maintenance windows including off-shift schedules to minimize application impact
Provide active schema lists to customer and execute customer-generated service requests interference to customer employee department moves or termination.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Rubrik backups.
Experience of Zerto cloning.
Experience of 19c - 23c Oracle upgrade.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience working in SAP environment.
Minimum of 5 - 8+ years of experience with Oracle.
Expert in Database Administration, Oracle installations, upgrades, database refreshes & patching in SAP environment.
Expert in performing backup & recovery, database cloning using RMAN.
Experience in performing table reorganization, rebuilding of indexes & datafiles addition using SAP BRTools.
Expert in Oracle performance & Tuning.
Experience with Linux shell scripting.
Experience in supporting PDB (Pluggable databases ) & CDB (Container databases).
Must be willing and able to work 100% remotely

Salary Description
$120,000.00 - $130,000.00
